เมื่อวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2568 เวลา 15.15 น. สมเด็จพระราชินีโซเฟีย พระบรมราชชนนีแห่งสเปนได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินมาทรงลงพระนามถวายความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ณ ที่ทำการสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมาดริด โดยมีอุปทูต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการทีมประเทศไทยและข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ถวายการรับเสด็จฯ

สมเด็จพระราชินีโซเฟีย พระบรมราชชนนีทรงเสด็จยืนสงบนิ่งไว้อาลัยหน้าพระบรมฉายาลักษณ์สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง และลงพระนามในสมุดถวายความอาลัย ทรงมีพระราชปฏิสันถารกับอุปทูตและข้าราชการเกี่ยวกับความสูญเสียอันยิ่งใหญ่นี้ โดยทรงตรัสว่าสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงมีความงามและความเมตตาหาผู้ใดเสมอเหมือน ทรงเป็นมิตรที่รัก และทรงรู้สึกเสียพระราชหฤทัยอย่างยิ่ง นอกจากนี้ ยังได้ทรงทอดพระเนตรพระฉายาลักษณ์เมื่อครั้งเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนประเทศไทย เข้าร่วมพระราชพิธีฉลองสิริราชสมบัติครบรอบ 60 ปีของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตรเมื่อปี 2549 การเสด็จเยือนสถานเอกอัครราชทูตของสมเด็จพระราชินีโซเฟีย พระบรมราชชนนีใช้เวลาประมาณ 15 นาที แล้วเสด็จพระราชดำเนินกลับ

On 30 October 2025, at 15:15 hrs., Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain graciously visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid to sign the book of condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand. The Charge d'Affaires a.i., executives of the Team Thailand Offices in Spain, and the Embassy officials were present to receive Her Majesty.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia observed a moment of silence in front of the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand and signed the book of condolences. She expressed to the Charge d'Affaires a.i. and Embassy officials her deep sorrow at this great loss, stating that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit was a woman of unparalleled grace and kindness, a beloved friend, and that she was profoundly saddened by her passing.

Her Majesty also viewed photographs taken during her visit to Thailand to attend the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the Accession to the Throne of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great in 2006. Her Majesty Queen Sofía’s visit to the Embassy lasted approximately 15 minutes before she departed.
